About This Game

Pac-Man World 2 is a vibrant 3D platformer developed by Namco USA and released in 2002 for the Xbox, GameCube, and PlayStation 2, with subsequent releases for Microsoft Windows in 2004 and a unique isometric sidescroller version for the Game Boy Advance in 2005. This game serves as a sequel to Pac-Man World from 1999, expanding the universe and gameplay. Plot The story of Pac-Man World 2 begins centuries ago when the malevolent ghost king Spooky terrorized Pac-Land. To counter this threat, the Great Wizard Pac transformed five ordinary fruits into magical Golden Fruit. A brave knight, Sir Pac-A-Lot, defeated Spooky using these fruits and sealed him under a tree in the center of Pac-Village. Fast forward to the present day, the ghosts Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde, cause mischief by stealing the Golden Fruit and accidentally freeing Spooky. Spooky commands the ghosts to eliminate the Pac-People. Professor Pac alerts Pac-Man the following morning, setting him on a quest across various lands and ultimately to Ghost Island to retrieve the Golden Fruit and defeat Spooky. After a series of adventures and battles, Pac-Man transforms into a golden form with the power of the Golden Fruit, defeats Spooky again, and reseals him beneath the tree. Gameplay In Pac-Man World 2, players control Pac-Man through six worlds in a 3D environment. The gameplay involves navigating through levels, jumping, dodging, and using unique abilities like the Rev Roll to charge at enemies or cross gaps, the Butt-Bounce to press switches or attack from above, and a Flip Kick for striking airborne foes. Players collect Pac-Dots and fruits to increase their score, along with Power Pellets which grant temporary abilities such as turning metal to sink in water, shrinking to access tight spaces, or eating ghosts. Each level is designed with various obstacles, and collecting items enhances the player’s score. Pac-Man has a limited health bar, and losing all health segments means losing a life and restarting from the last checkpoint. The game also includes a Time Trial mode for non-boss levels, where players aim to complete levels as quickly as possible, with collectibles replaced by clocks that can stop the timer temporarily.
