About This Game

The Sims 2 is a retro simulation game where you take control a character as part of a 12 episode TV show. The TV series is called ‘Strangetown’. You may also like the Sims Pets and Sims Burst out. The Sims 2 on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance offers a unique simulation experience by blending traditional gameplay elements with a novel twist. Set in the quirky and mysterious town of Strangetown, the game builds on the GUI and mechanics introduced in its handheld predecessors, The Sims Bustin’ Out and The Urbz: Sims in the City, while presenting a fresh narrative approach. Gameplay and Structure In this version, players create and control Sims that are cast in a fictional TV series called “Strangetown”. The gameplay revolves around completing twelve episodic segments of the series, providing a structured narrative arc that guides the player’s journey through the game. Each episode features specific goals and objectives that the player’s Sim must achieve, simulating the plot progression of a television show. Between episodes, gameplay involves engaging in various mini-games and interacting with other Sims to develop relationships and accomplish secondary objectives. These interactions not only advance the story but also affect the Sim’s performance in the TV series, mimicking the real-life dynamics of a show’s production. The Cast and Setting Strangetown is aptly named for its unusual and often eccentric residents, who initially are unaware that they are part of a TV show. This meta-narrative element adds a layer of intrigue and humor to the game, as players navigate both the overt and covert aspects of town life. The cast includes: Returning Characters: Several characters from The Sims Bustin’ Out and The Urbz: Sims in the City reappear, providing continuity and a sense of familiarity for players who have experienced the earlier games. These characters bring with them backstories and relationships that enrich the social fabric of Strangetown. New Characters: Newcomers to the series have been introduced, each with their unique backgrounds and quirks. These characters are designed to blend seamlessly with the established residents, contributing to the diverse and interactive community that defines the gameplay experience.
