“Monster House” is an action-adventure video game developed by Artificial Mind and Movement and published by THQ, based on the popular film of the same name. In the game, players take on the roles of DJ, Chowder, and Jenny, three friends who find themselves trapped inside a living, malevolent house. Their goal is to navigate through a labyrinth of rooms and solve puzzles to find and destroy the house’s heart (its furnace) before Halloween. Throughout the game, players must open chests to find useful items such as keys for locked doors and blueprints that serve as maps. Communication with their ally, Skull, via walkie-talkie is crucial for getting past complex puzzles. To defend against various enemies inhabiting the house, players can use inventive weapons like cold syrup bottles to slow enemies down, water balloons, and water guns. Additionally, chocolate bars and soda pops are scattered throughout the house to quickly restore health. With each room filled with different enemies and puzzles to solve, DJ, Chowder, and Jenny must use their wits and resources to navigate each floor and ultimately stop the sinister house.
