About This Game

“Looney Tunes: Back in Action” on the Game Boy Advance is a vibrant video game adaptation loosely based on the 2003 film of the same name. In the game, iconic characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck embark on a mission to thwart the evil Acme Corporation’s plans, encountering classic Looney Tunes adversaries such as Yosemite Sam, Marvin the Martian, Elmer Fudd, and the Tasmanian Devil along the way. The game unfolds across four expansive levels, each presented in an isometric view that adds depth and complexity to the gameplay. Players can navigate through the Wooden Nickel casino in Las Vegas, the secretive Area 52 in the Nevada desert, the historic Louvre in Paris, and a mysterious temple in the jungle. The ability to switch between Bugs and Daffy at any time allows players to utilize their unique abilities: Bugs can leap long distances using his ears and tunnel through specific points on the map, while Daffy has the exclusive ability to swim. The primary objective in each level is to capture 12 “munkeys,” which requires solving various puzzles, engaging in races, duels, or leading enemies into traps. The game is populated by different enemies depending on the setting, such as guards, cowboys, or robots, creating diverse challenges. Power-ups are available through mailboxes scattered across the levels, providing the player with throwing ammunition (eggs), drop weapons (an anvil for Daffy and a piano for Bugs), and an invincibility shield. Additionally, collecting “munnies” (stylized as banknotes) unlocks mini-games where players must strategically push bombs off a platform before they detonate, offering a chance to earn extra lives. Each level culminates in a boss fight against one of the main villains, adding a significant challenge before progressing. After defeating the boss, players must then out-race the same villain in a dynamic racing segment viewed from behind the player’s car. Success in these races isn’t just about speed; strategic use of road power-ups like bombs and shields is crucial to overtaking the opponent. “Looney Tunes: Back in Action” for the Game Boy Advance captures the humor and chaos of the Looney Tunes universe, blending action, puzzles, and racing elements to create a multifaceted and engaging game for players of all ages.
