Jackie Chan Stuntmaster is a beat ’em up platform game where players move through different parts of New York City while taking on groups of enemies. The story centers on Jackie trying to rescue his kidnapped grandfather, which means working through 3D levels filled with obstacles and basic combat challenges. The moves are based on Jackie Chan’s real stunt style, since the developers used motion capture and his voice to make the character feel closer to how he performs in his films.
Players who finish the game with every golden dragon unlocked get a short video of Jackie talking about the project and showing some behind‑the‑scenes footage from the motion‑capture sessions. When it first came out, reviews were mixed. Some critics felt the style matched Jackie Chan movies well, while others thought the gameplay didn’t offer anything new. Even so, players who like older action games or grew up watching Jackie’s films still tend to check it out.
