About This Game

Fantastic Parodius also known as Gokujou Parodius is a horizontal-scrolling shooter, and a parody of the Gradius series of games, made in 1994. Now is not fully translationed from Japanese to english and playable online. Power Capsules and Abilities: Similar to the Gradius games, players can collect power capsules dropped by specific enemies. These capsules contribute to the player’s “power meter,” allowing them to unlock new weapons and abilities. The more capsules collected, the more powerful the player’s weapons become. This adds a strategic layer to the gameplay, as players must decide when to invest in their power meter for enhanced capabilities. Bells from TwinBee Series: In addition to power capsules, enemies also drop bells reminiscent of the TwinBee series. These bells provide the player with various abilities, and the player can choose their desired ability by shooting at the bells to change their color. This mechanic offers players a degree of customization in terms of their preferred abilities. Unique and Humorous Stages: The game features a total of seven stages, each with its own distinct theme and difficulty level. These stages often have whimsical and unusual settings, such as a UFO catcher machine, cookie-like castles, and casino parlors. This creative approach adds an entertaining and light-hearted aspect to the game. Boss Battles: As with the Gradius series, the stages culminate in boss battles. These bosses often have quirky designs and incorporate references to various games, including the Gradius series and other shooters like R-Type, Xevious, Galaga, and Thunder Force. The inclusion of familiar boss patterns pays homage to classic shoot ’em up titles while adding a layer of nostalgia.
