About This Game

Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors is a turn-based fighting game for the Game Boy Color that uses a card-based battle system. The game covers the entire Dragon Ball Z storyline from the Saiyan Saga to the Buu Saga and includes additional stories featuring Future Trunks. Players utilize a deck of cards to execute attacks, use techniques, and employ support items during battles. The game features 125 different cards categorized into attack, defense, and support types, each with strategic uses based on the character’s unique stats: Health Points, Strength, Ki, and Speed. These stats influence the battle outcomes in terms of damage dealt, attack accuracy, and defensive capabilities. After completing the game, players can replay it with any characters and forms they’ve unlocked. A second playthrough might unlock additional characters depending on certain achievements. Throughout the game, players build their deck from a total of 20 cards and engage in battles that alternate between attack and defense phases. They can earn experience points to level up characters, enhancing their stats temporarily or permanently up to four times. The strategic element of the game is heightened by the need to assemble a deck and manage resources like card cost (CC) points, which are essential for activating cards. Each character has three decks: a limit deck for frequently used cards, the main player-assembled deck, and a fixed deck containing essential battle cards. This complex gameplay system combines strategy with fast-paced action, making it a unique entry in the Dragon Ball Z game series.
